Riad Dar Chama fes

The room was spotless, the toilet was very clean, and the hot water worked perfectly. I worry about cleanliness and usually spend weeks looking for a place, so I really appreciated how attentive they were. Riad Mazar is gorgeous and authentic, with Moroccan art and a lot of care put into its design. The owner and staff were friendly, helpful, and relaxed, without hovering. They were easy to contact and helped with transportation, room needs, and shop suggestions. As two women traveling together, we appreciated being able to walk safely to the medina, with the Blue Gate as the nearest entrance. The hospitality in Fez left a huge impression on me, maybe even better than Indonesia or India. Thanks to the lovely staff, we’d definitely like to return.

The standout parts were Ouiam and the interior. The young woman in the picture handled our questions, problems, directions, and requests for recommendations with real professionalism. And the design and craftsmanship throughout are remarkable, much better than the photos can show. The location just outside the Medina is convenient because taxis can pull up at the door. We stayed four or five days in mid-February, and we travel about seven months a year as digital nomads. One downside in winter is that the common areas aren’t heated, so sitting in the lobby to work without a coat can be uncomfortable. We found that disappointing, and normally I’d have taken off a star. But those two strengths impressed me enough to add one. We’ll return to Fes and stay here again.

Weam and Yasin were thoughtful, hardworking, and wonderful throughout the stay. When it got unusually cold and our heater wasn’t working, the team quickly moved us to another room. Weam was easy to reach on WhatsApp and even helped translate when we needed to speak with taxi drivers. The place itself is beautiful, and the service made our trip to Fes even better. It’s about a five to ten minute walk from the Blue Gate entrance to the Old Medina. Highly recommended!

Ouiam deserves a special mention for her kindness, professionalism, and eye for detail. The whole team was exceptionally welcoming, making each moment feel personal and well cared for. Riad Mazar Fes is a beautiful, authentic place with a calm and comfortable feel, right in the Medina. You’re close to everything while still able to enjoy some peace. Highly recommend for anyone after beauty, comfort, and genuine hospitality.
