Riad Jean Claude

The location of Riad Jean Claude is about as close as you can get to the Medina, but it’s still peaceful and quiet when you return. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were lovely and breakfast was delicious. Thanks for having us, Jean Claude!

Jean-Claude is a wonderful host, and the staff are so kind and keep everything perfectly clean each day. The garden is beautiful and peaceful, a welcome break after the busy Medina, and the place feels like stepping into a 1001 story. The pictures don’t do it justice. The location is perfect, right outside the Medina and close to the most beautiful sunset spot. Breakfast is royal: lovely Moroccan Msemen, jam, and honey, which are great but available all over Morocco, plus French patisseries and Boursin. Du pain et du Boursin! There’s also a little beauty spa hidden in the garden, where Rihanna gives the best massages for a small price. If you want to visit, this is the place to stay, no doubt in mind.

Jean Claude made our stay memorable. He arranged a driver for the day and even took us to the train station. Our room was large and beautifully decorated, and the Riad sits in a lovely garden with a pool. It’s across the road from Ain Azliten car park, and an alleyway takes you straight into the bazaar. That quiet setting was a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was delicious. Five stars all the way, and thank you, Jean Claude.

The pool was perfect for cooling off in the extremely hot afternoons, and the traditional Moroccan breakfast was quite good and filling. The riad is very beautiful, both day and night, and really close to the medina. Jean Claude and his staff are friendly, and he was available with questions and advice about Fez and Morocco in general. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay here on my next trip.
