Afer Surf Hostel

The beds and mattresses were excellent. The rest was a letdown: the location wasn't great, the staff were only so-so, and cleanliness was a real problem. The hostel was often dirty, especially the bathrooms, and one smelled almost unbearable. Since it isn't especially cheap, I'd suggest staying at another hostel.

The people here were so welcoming. The staff treated me like part of a big family and helped me with whatever I needed, and the vibe is great. It's cheap, so I'd recommend it as a budget hostel. That said, it has plenty of room to improve. It wasn't exactly clean or well organized, though it wasn't horribly dirty either. The bathroom shared with 10 other people hadn't been cleaned in a while, and the kitchen was messy enough that I never felt like cooking. Guests contribute to that, sure, but with so many people coming through, keeping things tidy matters. Don't expect a polished surf house yet. Hopefully they can improve it bit by bit :)

We met other travelers easily over the delicious group breakfasts and dinners, with healthy, nutritious food served every day. The rooftop terrace looks out over the whole town, and the hostel is in a great part of Imsouane, close to the beach for surfing. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. I've been traveling for a few years, and Afer Surf is one of my favorite places I've stayed. Zak, the owner, is incredibly welcoming and makes the hostel feel like home.

We hated having to leave and will definitely come back. The food was great, and the rooftop terrace was perfect for sunsets and morning yoga. The whole place felt light, clean, and cozy, with a really friendly, laid-back atmosphere. The owners and staff were lovely and helpful. I can only recommend it!
