Watching the sun go down and come up over Lake Iriki was a highlight. I got there at sunset and found nobody around, so I WhatsApped the number on the sign. Abdul rang back straight away and showed up about ten minutes later, welcoming me warmly. He lives there with his family and cooked me a fantastic dinner; two of his brothers joined us while we ate, and we had a good chat. It’s a really cool experience, and a great spot for cyclists out in the desert. I hope I can come back someday. Thanks, Abdul.

The food and drinks were nice, and everyone was welcoming and accommodating. We’d driven from the UK in a 4x4 and arrived very late because the roads can be tricky, depending on the route. We planned to sleep in the room, but after half an hour it was too hot and uncomfortable, so we used our tent instead, which was much cooler. When we left, though, we were still charged for the room, making it 800 dirhams for what was basically food. That felt very expensive, especially after travelling so far and needing fuel. We’d stayed elsewhere before where two nights and meals could have cost that much. It works well as a stopover, but make sure you have enough fuel.

After a long day crossing the desert by bike, this auberge was just what I needed. Abdu was kind and attentive, and clearly cared about making sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. You can really feel the hospitality here. Thanks so much!

We had a lovely time on the Titanic balcony, and the host gave us a warm welcome. The food was delicious too. I’d love to come back to the ship, and would encourage others to visit and enjoy some time there.

We cycled in and camped outside the building. Such a great place for a break out in the middle of nowhere, with friendly, helpful hosts who even spoke a bit of English. The tagine and fries were excellent! 👌
