Riad Lahboul

Hassan was a kind, helpful host. He took us for a good harira soup and helped with directions. The traditional riad has tiled walls and a nice room with a good hot shower, a heater and air conditioning. Lovely breakfast too. All good!

The dinner here was even better than the great breakfast, with very reasonable prices and great service. If you’re planning to eat at the riad, do it here. This was the best riad we had in Morocco, and the staff were friendly and gave us a simple city guide. It’s convenient if you’re driving, with parking nearby and very clear directions. The road to the riad is narrow and bumpy, though, so suitcases aren’t a good idea. We stayed at five riads in different Moroccan cities, and at this price we expected some furniture or equipment to be broken but usable, sandy floors, and a breakfast without protein. Here, only the sandy floor applied, and all the equipment worked fine, so we were happy.

Of all the riads we stayed in while visiting Morocco, this was probably the best. Charming place, lovely owners and great roof terraces. I wouldn’t fault a thing.

Mouna and Simon were wonderful hosts, with real enthusiasm for Meknes. They shared tips on the sights, places to eat and shopping around town. Fantastic hospitality and food.
