The two of us spent two nights at Beldi Camp, tucked among the Erg Chebbi dunes, and the stay was amazing. You can reach it by 4x4 or camel. The tents were stylish and comfortable, with private showers and bathrooms, and everyone at the camp was welcoming. Fatima made delicious meals, and Archaf and Ali made us feel special. Archaf even surprised my sister with a birthday cake. We loved the quiet desert atmosphere, the sunrises and sunsets, the tours, and evenings by the fire with local music. It was the highlight of our October trip from Marrakech to the Sahara in Merzouga. Our guide and driver, Ismail, made sure we felt safe and looked after. On the way, we stopped in the Atlas Mountains, at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, in the Valley of Roses, and at the Dades Valley, where we stayed at Hotel Sultan Dades. The hotel was lovely, with friendly, professional staff. The next day we visited the Todra Valley, passed through the Tinjdad palm grove, and explored a marble and fossil workshop in Erfoud. Thank you, Beldi Camp, for a trip we’ll remember. Highly recommend it for a desert stay.

The tents were much better than I expected, even the bathroom, and the host was super sweet. The food was amazing too. Try the boards on the dunes and stay out to watch the stars, it’s a once in a lifetime experience. One night is enough, though, and the kasbahs in Merzouga are worth staying at.

The camp is very good value for money. The room was large and comfortable, and the accommodation felt luxurious and was to a very high standard. Dinner was very good, breakfast decent enough. The location is amazing, right in the desert, though some camps are in more dramatic dunes and some are definitely less well placed. Staff were friendly but not especially communicative. I wouldn’t recommend booking private transport through them. We were promised an English speaking driver and expected a tour with information, but our drivers didn’t speak English. They were friendly, but it wasn’t what we had expected.

The tents were nice, the food was great, the location was good, and the staff were lovely. When we ran into trouble on the way to camp, the owner went out of his way to help us.

We spent six incredible days here. It’s just you and the sand, with that beautiful feeling of isolation and magic all around. The camp is amazing, and the whole team is so friendly. The Berber hospitality is second to none.
