Kam Kam Dunes

The kids, aged 5 and 7, loved playing in the sand and trying sandboarding. We also enjoyed the camel ride to the dunes at sunset. Our four-night round trip from Marrakech to Kamkam dunes included two nights at this camp. It’s close to the big sand dunes and away from the other camps. The rooms were clean and spacious, with private toilets and hot-water showers. They have air conditioning, though we didn’t need it in early April. Food was fine, and the staff and music were great.

The people here are what made this a defining memory for our family. Mufasa seemed tireless, making sure our stay went smoothly, preparing meals, arranging camel rides and even making turbans for us. Elisabete was wonderful with the booking, arrival and tours. Everyone made us feel like family, and their friendliness went beyond the high expectations we already had from the reviews. The rooms and facilities were great, too. They even arranged transportation from the airport and a welcome dinner at 2 am. Morocco was full of warm, gracious people, but Mufasa was the best and most unforgettable.

The Sahara surroundings in Erg Chebbi were awe-inspiring, and the kids loved it. Kam Kam Dunes is right in the heart of the desert, away from the larger camps with too many tents and too much noise. Everyone working there was brilliant, especially with the children. A definite highlight of our trip. Thank you all! 🙏🏼

We loved every minute and would give this place more than five stars. The camp is small, with only a few huge tents, and sits well away from the big tourist camps. There’s plenty of space, nice dining tents, an indoor lounge tent for sandstorms or colder weather, and lots of outdoor lounging spots. Breakfast and dinner were amazing, lovingly prepared, and there was so much food. Staff were always smiling and ready to help, and we felt part of a little family. Elisabete answered our questions directly, and we booked with her. The small touches stood out: instead of taking the high road to camp, they made a detour to show us something. The included sunset camel ride was lovely, and we booked a full-day 4x4 tour. Moha showed us around and shared so much about his country and culture that we came away understanding much more. There was Berber music by the campfire in the evening. We stayed two nights and definitely recommend that, or three if you have time to relax. They made our first Sahara visit so special.
