The women in our group were seriously harassed by the camp workers. Lunch cost a lot and was worth very little, there was no other food available, and the camp had no basic first aid kit. We paid for a camel ride, but during a sandstorm they left us stranded in the desert. They said they would come back, but never did. The shower water gave me second and third degree burns, and I’ll be scarred permanently. They offered no medical care, gauze, or ibuprofen. The only water that worked at times was brown, so I couldn’t even wash my burned hand with clean water. I travel and hike often, including in several underdeveloped countries, and I’ve never had such a horrible experience. I wouldn’t wish this place on anyone. There was no electricity at times, no running water, and the pool was indescribably dirty. We also didn’t have enough beds for our group, despite being assured everyone would have a place to sleep. The staff brought out plastic-wrapped cushions instead. This so-called luxury camp was nothing like its advertising.

The water and electricity kept cutting out, so we couldn’t count on the lights, toilet, or sink working. On our second day, the water was off for almost the whole day. One room’s shower badly burned a girl in our group, leaving blisters. I saw the wounds myself and she took photos, but the hotel staff replied to her review by calling her a liar and saying she had been drunk. That was very deceitful. On a camel ride, the riders pressured us to buy things, then left us in the desert when we didn’t. We had to walk back. Some workers also pushed us to share our alcohol. My tour guide had warned me that alcohol is uncommon in Morocco and may affect locals more than people used to drinking, but that hadn’t been explained to everyone. Some people in our tour gave in and shared their drinks, and the workers became quite intoxicated and inappropriate toward some of the women. The hotel has made untrue claims in replies to other reviews from my group, saying we drank when it wasn’t allowed. Our tour group was specifically told we could bring our own alcohol, and we drank moderately in the open. No one said it wasn’t allowed. The only people getting messily drunk were the employees. All in all, it was a terrible stay, and I want to warn other travelers.

The workers repeatedly asked us for alcohol, then behaved in ways that felt threatening and deeply inappropriate. Men followed the women, knocked on doors late at night while claiming to be security, and made explicit comments in Arabic about wanting to hook up with drunk girls. They also switched off all the lights in the main guest area, leaving only their own camp lit. It felt like a deliberate way to draw women toward them. When some of us moved toward the only lights because we felt safer there, they chased us with flashlights and yelled for us to come over. The same thing happened the next night. When I asked why the guest area was dark, I was told the lights weren’t working. After we kept asking, they admitted they had turned them off on purpose, then switched them back on. It felt calculated and predatory, like we were being hunted. I’m shocked nobody in our group went missing or died. There was also limited electricity, brown running water, and shower water that caused second and third degree burns to a friend. No first aid kit was available, and nobody offered medical help. The conditions were inhumane, and the atmosphere was frightening and manipulative. This was one of the most horrifying and unsafe travel experiences I’ve had. I strongly urge people, especially women, to avoid this camp and spread the word before someone is seriously hurt or worse.

Several employees were clearly drunk and behaved aggressively and inappropriately toward the women in our group. Some tried to get into their rooms. It felt deeply unsafe and disrespectful. When someone in our group burned her hand, no staff member showed concern or offered help. The tap water was brown and undrinkable, and the hygiene was unacceptable, with dirty rooms, moldy areas, and a terrible smell. Our group’s stay was disturbing and inhumane. I strongly advise against booking this hotel.

The location is 💯, and the food was amazing. I felt so welcomed as part of this lovely desert family. I got to play local music with them and picked up Arabic and Berber so quickly. Great vibes, cool people, and so much love. I hope I can come back and stay longer next time.
