The dinner Khadeja made was one of the best meals of our trip, homemade, full of flavor, and clearly cooked with care. The most memorable part of our honeymoon, though, was the Berber Amazigh wedding tradition Abdoul and Ahmed shared with us. They dressed us in traditional outfits and invited us into a ceremony that felt wholesome and rooted in culture. Abdoul’s family came together with drums, castanets, music, and stories, explaining each part of the tradition. It felt sincere and welcoming, not like a performance, and we were grateful to be included in something so meaningful to them. After two and a half weeks traveling through Morocco, this was one of the highlights of our journey. If you want more than just a room, I highly recommend staying here. The Nomadic Camp trip we took with them was spectacular. Achmed was a patient, kind guide, helped us when we were feeling a little sick, and even arranged a surprise birthday cake. We also loved coordinating the details with Suzanne, who made it a really fun time. We were so glad we chose Khamlia Desert Bed & Breakfast. This family-run place was more than we expected. Abdoul was an amazing host and seems to be well loved around Khamlia, which is easy to understand. Everyone at the B&B was kind and generous with their time and care, with a special energy we appreciated so much. The breakfast was yummy too. Thanks for having us!

We especially enjoyed the overnight desert trip with Ahmed and were lucky to reach such a great bivouac. We also heard Gnaoua music several times and visited "Chez les Artistes" just across the road. Khamlia is an authentic, peaceful village 8kms from Merzouga, and we really liked your hotel and its friendly atmosphere. Abdul, Ahmed, and Rhadija were very kind and helpful. Right in the middle of Khamlia, Khamlia Desert B&B has places to eat, things to do, and coffee spots near the dunes close by. The family who runs it treated me so kindly and went out of their way to help. I spent two weeks there and loved how quiet, safe, and beautiful it felt, especially being so near the sand dunes. I've traveled around Morocco quite a bit, and the people in Khamlia were the kindest I've met. For tasty food, a great view, and an authentic stay, I can't recommend it enough. Go see for yourself.

The walks around the area were lovely, and the neighbors were friendly. I enjoyed chatting with local people about history, music, and art. During my two weeks here, the family made me feel welcome, and I loved the atmosphere. They served delicious traditional meals and helped me work out what to see and where to go. I'd recommend Khamlia B&B to anyone visiting the area.
