Luxury Maktoub

This place felt worn and wasn't luxurious compared with other desert stays we've had. There were broken lamps and vases, torn cushion covers, and pipes left lying around. We had no warm water and only one pillow. The food was okay, though it was the same on both nights. The staff seemed to be doing what they could with very little to work with.

Really nice place!

The evening was a highlight, with live music, a great meal, and really friendly staff. We stayed as a family for one night, arriving after an hour's camel ride across the dunes. Our room had a bathroom and was well equipped. I'd happily recommend the camp.

I didn't find anything especially lacking during my January stay. They gave us three layers of blankets, so the cold wasn't much of an issue, and the food was decent. One thing to bear in mind, the hot water was gone after about three people had showered. I suppose that's part of staying in the desert.
