Idriss went out of their way to make my stay unforgettable, sharing what they knew about the desert and Berber culture and always being attentive and friendly. The warm hospitality started as soon as I arrived and made me feel at home in the Sahara. The Original Desert Camp in Merzouga is a lovely mix of traditional Berber style and modern comfort. My spacious, cozy tent had comfortable bedding, and I slept well under the stars. Even in the middle of the desert, the bathrooms were clean and the showers hot. One of my favorite moments was riding a camel at sunset and watching the sun sink below the endless dunes. It felt surreal and peaceful, and I’ll always remember it. Later, traditional Berber music and drumming around the campfire made for a magical, intimate evening. The fresh Moroccan dishes were delicious too. I especially loved the tagine dinner and hearty breakfast before a full day exploring the dunes. Whether you want adventure, downtime or both, the Original Desert Camp in Merzouga offers a memorable way to experience the Sahara. I highly recommend it. It’s a trip I won’t forget.

The tents were clean, lovely, and felt surprisingly luxurious. We also had the best dinner of our Morocco trip here. The owner kept everyone laughing and made sure we were having a good time, and Mustapha was so friendly. We had some great conversations with him during our stay. We booked through GetYourGuide and would recommend it to anyone.

I’ve traveled a lot and rarely met someone as caring and devoted as Si Hamid, one of Original Desert Camp’s guides and drivers. He was patient, knowledgeable, empathetic, and incredibly helpful. I’m grateful for the warm welcome and hospitality from him and the camp.

Even though we were the only guests at dinner, the staff played music for us and stayed afterward to chat. They were so attentive and friendly throughout our stay. The tents were comfortable and lovely, and the food was top notch, probably among the best we ate on the whole trip.

After dinner, the staff played music by the fire, and they were so kind to us. Dinner itself was a real surprise, one of the best meals we had in Morocco. Such an amazing place.
