The host is kind and reliable, and the place is in a quiet part of town with a gorgeous view over the mountain and downtown.

The village center has lots of cafés, where football matches are shown loudly on TV. This place is much quieter and better for relaxing, though still just three minutes from everything. It’s very clean, with a comfortable bed and fully equipped kitchen. There’s a modern washing machine in the room, hot water is fine, and I can only recommend it.

We had a peaceful, restful three-night stay, and the attentive manager sorted out problems quickly. The sheets, blankets, and furnishings were all very clean. Our ground-floor appartment had a great kitchen with a small dining area, a little bedroom that was just right, and a sitting area with local TV stations. There was also a second, small, bare twin bedroom and another lavatory in the corridor. The bathroom was huge and the shower warm. The kitchen had a hob but no oven, and only a few utensils, including one fork, though that didn’t bother us. The appartment is set between town and one of the two main beaches, just off a big but quiet road. The wide, pleasant beach down the road is about a hundred steps away, but swimming there is a bit dangerous. We couldn’t find the other beach, which seemed to be hidden among rubble-covered tracks and half-built flats. Mirleft itself was disappointing, with construction and development everywhere. One thing that worried me was the LPG bottles for the hot water and cooker being inside a building with no drain holes to the outside. I’m a bit paranoid about LPG, and nearly all appartments here use it, so I mention it for other sailors like me who respect the risks.

The host was wonderful, and the place was clean, neat, and spacious. There’s a gas kitchen and gas water heater. Wi-Fi was 2 Mb/s, while LTE Orange on my phone got around 70 Mb/s.
