Hotel L'Initiale

This was just about the restaurant. The setting was pleasant, but I left a little disappointed after going in with high expectations. The generous fish platter wasn’t grilled as promised, and the fish soup came as a puree without the chunks I associate with an authentic soup. The food quality didn’t match European-level prices, and having stray cats around the table didn’t help the meal. There’s potential here for better local food.

We came to eat, but this no longer feels like a restaurant. The music is loud and, staff said, goes on until 3 or 4 in the morning. Around 10 pm, several hotel guests were already complaining about it. The food has changed, too. A tiny pizza like the kind sold at street fast-food shops for 25 to 30 dh costs 80 to 100 dh here. It’s not worth it anymore. It used to be a restaurant when the owner was alive.

We were staying at the nearby campervan parking and went here for dinner. The decor, lighting, and music made for a nice atmosphere. We had oysters, moules, and fish, and the food was good. It was a good experience.

We had lunch at the restaurant in October. The seafood was fresh, the staff friendly, and the location was great. Prices were good, too.
