Seashell

For a quick stop in Oualidia, Motel Seashell worked well for the two of us. We found a last-minute deal on Booking.com, and when we arrived around 2:00 AM, a receptionist was there to check us in. The staff were welcoming and kind. They weren’t especially professional, but they handled things well, especially at that hour. The room was basic but comfortable and clean, with air conditioning, a private shower with hot and cold water, towels, shampoo, and clean sheets. The window looked partly over the gas station and partly toward a lovely distant view. Breakfast was included and fine, much like the photos. It was enough to get the day started, though nothing special. A practical, fairly priced place for road trippers, budget travelers, or anyone arriving late. I’d say it suits an overnight stay better than a longer holiday or guests after a resort-style experience.

We only spent one night here, but we’d stay again when passing through Morocco. The motel had a room available when we walked in, at a much better price than the third-party sites, even though we’d had trouble booking through Booking.com and Agoda. They gave us breakfast for free in the morning, and even my picky husband enjoyed it. We didn’t get to try dinner, so we’d like to next time. It’s not right in the town center, but you can walk everywhere. Restaurants around town aren’t cheap, and some seemed even pricier than in Casablanca 😖. We found the seafood stands by the beach a better deal.

This was my second stay at Seashell Hotel Oualidia with my wife, and we’ll keep coming back. The room was quiet and had a comfortable bed, hot water 🚿, air conditioning, and was clean. We also got an excellent welcome from the receptionist. I’d definitely stay here again.

The New York sandwich we ordered was delicious. It’s a calm, quiet place, and our waiter was so courteous. I’d definitely recommend the food here.
