Sultana Royal Golf

The food tasted good, but the rooms feel very dated. The bathroom layout is awful. Water sprays outward from the shower, and the basin is shallow with hardly any room for toiletries.

We slept well, and the food was nice. The people are friendly, too, and they speak good English.

The people here were so warm and helpful that I found myself overlooking the hotel's other shortcomings. There are only a few staff members, switching between reception, waiting tables, carrying bags, and other roles, but they were keen to make our stay comfortable. The restaurant is a lovely place to watch the sunset, and the grounds, pool, and restaurant itself look gorgeous. The food was good and portions were generous, though nothing spectacular. The rooms are a different story. They're fairly basic, quite dark, and the beds are so firm they were uncomfortable. The bathroom was a little better, with a small bathtub. The hotel is well outside Ouarzazate, so having your own car is fine. Petit taxis may not want to take you all the way there. Ouarzazate may attract lots of tourists as the door to the desert, but it's still a fairly small town with limited hotel choices. If the name and advertising have you expecting a 5-star stay, lower those expectations. I didn't see a golf course either.

The staff were kind and nice, but management really wasn't up to par. The drinks are expensive, €7,50 for a beer. There's no golf, just a ruined mini golf area and a broken concrete ping pong table. The room was ugly and uncomfortable, and everything looked very run down, like it was falling apart and about to shut down.
