Rabat Residence

The manager was the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with. All he did was shout, somehow saying so much while contributing so little. The room we got was completely wrong and horrific. The sheets were dirty with hair all over them 💀, and there wasn’t any toilet paper in the bathroom. About as unwelcoming a sight in Morocco as you could imagine. Next time I think I’d rather sleep outside with the cats. Don’t stay here.

I’ve been stuck outside the residence door for ten minutes, before the 11:30 curfew when the front desk closes. This is unacceptable and a complete waste of money. I’d strongly advise tourists to stay away. Now I have to work out where to spend the night. Edit: I called Booking.com to dispute the refund policy. The owner called back 45 minutes later, after the 11:30 curfew, and said he couldn’t refund me while blaming me. Before that, I’d called him and his assistant multiple times and neither answered.

The apartment had everything we needed for a short stay, and housekeeping was good. It was a very nice place in a good location, with a helpful host, and good value for the Rabat area. A couple of things to know: the toilet is separate from the room, and payment is in cash. We hadn’t seen that cash detail before arriving.

Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea and was cozy and neat. The host was a very polite young man. It made a perfect end to our journey through Morocco. I’d definitely check in again on my next visit to Rabat.
