Room-gite Tawada Vous Souhaite le Bienve

We had a lovely local stay. Mohamed was attentive and very helpful, and the family served us a generous couscous dinner. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and the rooms were clean.

Mohammed, Samir, and Hassan put together a brilliant four-day trek up Jbel Mgoun for us, with delicious food and great equipment. We had a wonderful time staying with Mohammed and his family at Gite Tawada. Thanks for everything, we loved being in Ait Bougemez.

Dinner turned out to be a great choice: several homemade courses, fresh bread, tea, and coffee. We also spent the evening relaxing with the owners in their beautifully decorated lounge, watching TV. Mohammed and his family are incredibly friendly, and his lifelong guiding experience gives him great knowledge of the area. He makes you feel at home in his lovely accommodation. Our room had a nice private bathroom, and they gave us plenty of blankets for the cold night. The view over the mountains in the morning was magical.

The hosts are so friendly and available, some of the sweetest people we've met. The rooms are clean and nice, each with a shower and bathroom. The nightly rate is very affordable. Meals cost extra, but they offer all three; we had breakfast and dinner, and breakfast was the standout while dinner was okay. Getting there was tough. The mountain road is winding, with dramatic slopes, so make sure your car is checked and drive carefully. But once we arrived, it felt worth it. We visited during the hottest part of summer and the weather was ideal, though we needed jackets at night and blankets to sleep. The host is a certified guide and offers guided visits, which we didn't take. They still showed us how to get to the local sights, including dinosaur traces and old rupest art. For us, the gite was one of the best places we've stayed.
