BigBlue Hostel Surf & Coworking

There was no air circulation in the rooms, and the bathroom had no light. This was my worst hostel stay in Morocco. I followed all the instructions and still had to practically force the receptionist to return my 440 MAD security deposit. I won't go into the details, but it got very ugly. It's sad to see what has happened to this hostel. Management, the staff and operations have serious problems. Please focus on fixing those instead of patching over the issue. I truly wish you all the best and hope you can get back to the standard you used to have.

The room had no window and only a bed, with no air conditioning. They charged a 40 euro deposit, too, and there were too many extra fees. Check-in is at 14h, but checkout is at 11h, with a penalty if you're late. The woman at reception was a disaster, with provoking smiles that made me furious. If you arrive in a good mood, the poor hospitality will ruin it. Very disappointing to waste money on this hostel. Save it for somewhere else.

The room was clean, the night staff were friendly, and the location was good. But the hostel felt expensive for what you get if you're not booking a surf package, and it wasn't very social without one. The rooftop is nice, though it's the only shared place to relax. The hammam was being used for storage, and coworking cost an extra €10 a day. They also used an exchange rate of 11 MAD to the euro, while everywhere else we saw in Morocco used 10, which felt unnecessary. The reasons we picked this hostel over others were either unavailable or came with extra charges.

The rooftop had a lovely view and was a nice place to relax after exploring. Inside, the common areas felt cozy, and the rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, with thoughtful little touches. The atmosphere was easygoing and friendly, good for solo travelers, couples, or anyone wanting to meet people. The staff were welcoming and helpful from the moment I arrived, and I felt right at home at Big Blue Hostel.
