For a relaxing stay surrounded by nature, away from the city, I highly recommend Sumahan. The fresh air and greenery were wonderful, and the suites were spacious and very comfortable. There’s also a charming nearby douar where you can get a glimpse of local culture and lifestyle. The views over the Atlas mountains are impressive, and the staff were attentive and caring. The food was amazing, especially the exceptional Iftar for breaking the fast. I’ll definitely come back.

The complex has a huge garden and is really lovely. Our room was clean, tidy, spacious, and had a nice oriental touch. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Staff were polite and helpful, and spoke English as well. It’s calm and quiet outside the Marrakech rush, a great place to stay. Just keep in mind it’s about a 30-minute drive from the city center, so you’ll need transportation. We had a rental car.

The breakfast each morning was fabulous, and all the staff apart from the manager were lovely and helpful. Still, this was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. We left a day early and found somewhere else. We booked through Secret Escapes, and problems started as soon as we arrived. The first room was spacious and looked lovely, but the floor, sofa, and chairs were dirty, with hairs and other mess around. There was no hot water or WiFi, and the toilet broke after one use. The manager offered to move us. The second room was even dirtier, with bird poo on the table. The shower was a little better but kept switching from hot to cold, and its floor was broken with sharp pieces still lying there. The toilet broke again and wouldn’t flush. At least the WiFi worked in that room. Our confirmation said the hotel ran a free shuttle to and from Marrakech, but the manager said that was wrong and that we’d have to pay 35 euros for a taxi. We’d also been promised a bottle of wine in the room on arrival, which never appeared. We weren’t given water, and only found out at the end that we’d been charged for each bottle we asked for. My partner recleaned both rooms because they were so dirty. We raised all of this with the manager, who didn’t smile once during our stay and got angry when I suggested the water should be free as a goodwill gesture. He took no responsibility and blamed Secret Escapes however he could.
