Riad Aziman

Fatima is a wonderful host and a fantastic cook. We loved her carefully made meals, they were a real highlight. The riad has a lovely rooftop with a great view, a pool to cool off in, and even a sauna. It’s right in the middle of Tétouan’s medina, and the place feels like a clean, modern palace with Moroccan character and stylish comfort. We’d happily return.

Having Riad Aziman to ourselves worked out perfectly for our group of eight friends. The shared areas, several bathrooms, huge terrace, and all the thoughtful details made it feel like home. We weren’t sure at first about staying in the middle of the Medina, but being there let us experience Tetouan’s local life and culture up close. Obeida and Fatima took such good care of us and made us feel welcome. We had everything we wanted for an unforgettable holiday, and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Fatima, the housekeeper, makes you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. The Riad Aziman is in the center of Tetouan, a beautiful city in the Maroccan Rif mountains. Inside, the decor is tasteful, and the rooms stay cool on hot summer days. You can step straight out to shop for groceries in the Souk, yet the place is still quiet, especially on the sunny roof terrace. Already looking forward to staying again!

Abdul was a star. He sorted out a problem with my taxi driver, helped with my bags and transport, and showed me around the Medina. The staff are friendly, speak several languages, and were so helpful with directions, haggling and sightseeing. Call ahead and let Abdul speak to your driver, since getting from the cab to the B&B with your luggage takes help. Someone will meet you at the taxi rank. I loved staying in an actual riad in the old city. Aziman looks out toward the hills and the kasbah, and my third-level room just below the rooftop terrace was amazing. The bed, fixtures, breakfast, coffee and facilities were all just right for me. The rooms have hot water, a private shower and loo, wifi and power for appliances. There’s no air con, so it won’t suit you if you need that. The management has done a great job preserving a piece of Tetouan history with an attractive, tasteful, authentic renovation.
