Bivouac Nature & Freedom

The one odd detail in the two suites we tried was the toilet, which was only separated from the bedroom by a curtain. Worth keeping in mind if that matters to you. We liked Dar Pienatcha enough to change our plans and return. It sits among the date palms in everyday Zagora, but inside, the guesthouse feels calm, peaceful, and comfortable. The staff are kind and helpful, the food is excellent and reasonably priced, and the poolside setting gives the whole place an extra touch of luxury. The suites we stayed in had creative furnishings and design.

We were welcomed warmly, and the place itself is quiet and peaceful, with lovely decorations. Breakfast and dinner were both really good. The main trouble was all the flies in the room. The mosquito net didn't cover the whole bed, which made it hard to sleep.

Our room was spacious, with a lovely balcony overlooking the beautifully landscaped garden. There were plenty of places to sit, plus a pool. Dar Pienatcha is tucked down a back road, and once you're inside it feels like a quiet refuge from Zagora's busy main street. We were greeted warmly with Moroccan tea. Mohamid cooked us a fantastic dinner by the indoor fire, and the tagine was amazing. Breakfast was the usual Moroccan spread of yogurt, bread, egg, and tea or coffee. I'd happily visit again and highly recommend it.

Mohammed was a kind, helpful host who kept checking that we were comfortable and had what we needed. The building and garden are beautiful, and the rooms are thoughtfully put together with everything you might need. The staff were amazing, and we had a wonderful time. They also arranged a desert stay for us, including a 4x4 ride there, dinner, a night in a tent, breakfast, and a dromedary ride.
