Purcari Winery

The wine is gorgeous. We bought 10 bottles from the shop after the tour. The estate is huge and picturesque, with vineyards, a hotel, restaurant, and wine factory. Our visit was on a Sunday winter evening, which turned out to be the worst time to come. The champagne factory doesn’t run on weekends, so we couldn’t see the process, and in the evening we couldn’t see the grounds. In summer, the tour goes through the vineyards, but we missed that too by coming in winter. At the same price, you get about a third of the experience in winter. Accommodation, the tour, and restaurant are also quite pricey.

The architecture at the chateau is impressive, and the surrounding nature is even more breathtaking. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and both the tour and wine tasting were good. I’d definitely recommend the place to my friends. Most of all, Romeo deserves credit. There was a technical problem with my booking, and he went above and beyond to accommodate us. He has excellent communication skills.

The rooms are charming, set just above the restaurant, and the cuisine is refined. Château Purcari feels authentic and elegant, with plenty of character, a Burgundy château atmosphere, and excellent wines. It’s a true hidden gem for wine enthusiasts. Not many foreigners seem to make the trip, perhaps because it’s remote and less famous than Castel Mimi, so it’s missing from most travel maps. Still, the journey is absolutely worth it.

The grounds are lovely, the wine is delicious, and breakfast was great. Having a bedroom in the main building is nice, but the room itself felt basic for the price, and there was no kettle or water. The food was incredibly expensive compared with similar vineyards.
