The property felt like home, with three adorable big dogs keeping us safe in exchange for ear scratches. It's up the mountain, quiet and away from all the tourists, which I love. In the morning I woke to beautiful birdsong on my little balcony with a sea view. I'm working in Montenegro, and for my first proper weekend off I booked a standard double room at Villa Ivanovic for two nights. The total on booking.com was €54.72 for the two nights, plus €5 in cash for taxes. I always get lost, and when I finally contacted the lovely owner, Jadranka, she came in her own car to pick me up. There's a pool, but it isn't open for the summer right now, so I guess I'll have to come back.

The room was clean and big enough, with air conditioning, a large balcony overlooking the mountain, a refrigerator and an electric kettle. You can have laundry done for a small price, just ask the hostess. There's coffee in the morning without needing to go out, plus a pool with sun loungers and plenty of tables and chairs outside for a meal or coffee. The host and hostess are really friendly and helpful, and will do anything to make your stay comfortable.
