Mediteran Hotel & Resort

Ivan at reception deserves a special thanks. He was polite, professional, and extremely helpful, making our stay much easier and more pleasant with his positive attitude and readiness to assist with everything we needed. The hotel was excellent all around, with clean rooms, a great location, and a comfortable feel.

The food was delicious, with plenty of variety and good quality. Our room was spacious, clean, and cozy, and the staff were welcoming, kind, and helpful throughout. The location was ideal, close to everything but still quiet enough to relax. The facilities felt modern, spotless, and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Mediteran and would gladly come back. Highly recommended for comfort and great service.

The beach and pools were enjoyable even though it was off season, and most of the hotel's amenities were open. Budva town is about 10 minutes away. There's a bus stop across the road, and the fare into the centre is €1.50. Google Maps helped us work out the rest, including getting to Budva Old Town or the bus station for trips toward Kotor and other parts of Montenegro. We stayed seven nights in November. The hotel staff were generally kind, though a few were dismissive. We thought the language barrier might have been a factor. Housekeeping was really nice each morning once we had moved rooms. We booked half board, with breakfast and dinner both served buffet style. Dinner was definitely worth the money, with different dishes each day as well as familiar staples for picky eaters. Breakfast could use more variety. It might also be nice if light drinks besides water were included with dinner. The hotel doesn't allow outside food or drink, saying this is due to Covid-19, though they could review that policy. Fat Boy across the road has really nice burgers and chips if you're after a quick bite. Our first room was a basic one with a balcony. We thought a basic room in a nice four-star hotel would be decent, but the water was tepid and took a long time to heat. November wasn't very cold, but a lukewarm shower still wasn't enough. We called reception from the room, but nobody came to investigate, so we went to the front desk. They moved us to another basic room, which had the same problem. On the way downstairs, we noticed housekeeping cleaning a superior room and checked its water temperature in case it was different. It was immediately much warmer. At reception, we explained the difference and that housekeeping had let us in. They asked how we'd accessed the room, and after we told them, they upgraded us to a superior room. Funny how that worked out. The stay was good after the room change, so my takeaway is to choose the superior room for the best experience.

The hotel felt old and worn, and the pool and spa were in poor shape during our nine-night stay at Mediteran Hotel and Resort. Staff also came into our room without knocking, which felt intrusive. When housekeeping shattered the shower door, it took three calls before we got another room, and their promises to clean our clothes that were covered in glass were never kept. I wouldn't recommend this for adults hoping for a relaxing stay.
