Apartments Sofija

The stay was good, but the closet door stayed broken even though they said on day one that they’d fix it, so using the closet was awkward. Towels were replaced every other day, but there wasn’t a final change. They seemed to decide the existing ones would do. No shower gel or shampoo was provided. The kitchenette lacked a proper knife, and the kettle only worked when set on someone’s nightstand.

Everything was very clean, and we got a friendly welcome. The studio is nicely furnished, with a slightly cramped bathroom and ventilation that wasn’t working. The location is fantastic: the beach is about a five-minute walk, and there’s a bakery, restaurant, and supermarket just a few meters away on the same street.

We had plenty of room to play evening charades over a glass of Vranac, and the owner was helpful, suggesting places to visit. A few things needed sorting out at first: there was no hot water, then some bulbs burned out. We rented apartments at the very top, so climbing all those stairs after the beach or an outing was torture. We had maybe 5 or 12 sunny days. The upper terrace view wasn’t especially impressive, though the apartments opposite had better evening views. Overall, we were satisfied, 8/10.

The apartment is 500 meters from the sea. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. There’s a market nearby that stays open until midnight. If you buy meat there, they can cook it for you too.
