Arvala Lux Apartments

A simple, clean, tidy apartment that was fine for a week in budva. The hill up to it is a bit steep. There’s a washing machine and a ring hob, but no microwave. The reception lady was lovely, friendly, and informative. Small supermarket and restaurants are about a 10-minute walk away.

The room was just about okay by our fairly low standards, though there wasn’t much storage for clothes. The price was cheap, and the services felt cheap too. Getting to the property was terrible, even by Montenegro’s rough road standards. We were told there’d be parking, but the garage was impossible to get into. There was no physical room for a regular car, with around 10 cars competing for about 6 spaces, so we had to park illegally at the roadside. Communication was basically impossible. The staff didn’t know English, French, Italian, or Spanish, and maybe had a few words of Russian, though I didn’t ask. We were told to wash the dishes and take out the trash, but there wasn’t a general garbage bin on site. We carried it to bins we found beside the road. We also paid tourist tax of about 1.5 euros per person per day, but got no receipt. As for Montenegro overall, the landscape is wonderful and worth seeing once, but I wouldn’t return. The poor roads, with no highways, make getting around difficult. I found the local attitude rude, aggressive, and racist, and the poor service reminded me of Romania in the '90s. L.E. My wife gave you a good Booking rating because communication during the calls was relatively good. Beyond that, English, somewhere to put garbage, and a garage without cars squeezed together would make the price and quality acceptable.

Management was really bad, and they don’t have their own parking. Very bad. 👎

The apartment was spotless and not far from the beach, with a lovely mountain view.
