Boutique Hotel Vissi d'Arte

The whole property was spotless, from the lobby through to our room, and everything felt well cared for. Staff were warm from the moment we arrived, and throughout the stay they handled every request promptly, with a smile and professional attention. The location made it easy to get around Budva. We had a wonderful visit and would gladly stay again. I highly recommend it, and it deserves more than five stars.

The room was decent, but the curtains let in the sunlight, so in this sunny climate we were up at dawn each day. There were some thoughtful touches, like fresh fruit when we arrived, and the staff did their best. Still, the letdowns kept adding up. We came to Montenegro hoping to start the trip at a hotel with a beautiful pool, where I could teach my girlfriend to swim. Instead, we learned on arrival that Hotel Vissi D’Arte had no pool. The hotel blamed its IT team, but other reviews from more than two years earlier showed the same pool image had been used for a while. Using it to secure bookings was dishonest. That image was what persuaded us to book, and it should never have been on the online listing. Perhaps the hotel wasn’t monitoring its Google listing, but this ongoing advertising problem left us feeling we hadn’t received what we paid for. We likely would have booked somewhere else. We also expected a five-star hotel to give basic local advice, such as where to go or hire a vehicle. The hotel gave us a fixed price for a rental car, which we agreed with the concierge. A much smaller car then arrived at a significantly higher cost. The whole deal was stressful and felt like a rip-off: we’d been promised one car and price, and that was another promise from the hotel that wasn’t kept. Between the misleading pool listing, the bright bedrooms, and the stressful car hire arrangement, we’d stay elsewhere if we returned to Budva, Montenegro. Hotel Vissi d’Arte still has a lot to learn about hospitality.

The staff made our stay special. We loved the rooms, dining, atmosphere, and location, and had an amazing time. We’re definitely coming back!

Puccini, the room we stayed in, was immaculate and had amazing bay views. The location was superb, with the Old Town a short walk away, and the staff were outstanding, friendly, and helpful. This was the best place we stayed during our three-week, five-country trip around the Balkans. Highly, highly recommend.
