Garni Hotel Koral

The receptionists were polite, though the breakfast staff came across as a bit bossy and rude. It was almost funny to watch from the side. Breakfast itself was average. Our rooms were small and smelly, the beds were awful, and there was no elevator for the upper floors. Wi-Fi didn’t reach some parts of the room, including the bed. At 9 in the morning they told us checkout was in an hour.

The creaky bed made it hard to get a proper night’s sleep, and the old furniture didn’t help. The bathroom smelled bad, Wi-Fi didn’t work in the rooms, and without an elevator we had to haul our bags up to the fourth floor. The worst part was our belongings: after I asked a few hours later whether anything had been found, they said they’d thrown it in the garbage. It felt like they were pretending to have tossed our things when they’d basically stolen them. A terrible experience.

We could walk to both the beaches and the old town, and the hotel was clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A few of the managers’ cats kept us company outside, which we liked. Fully recommend it!

I definitely wouldn’t recommend either staying here or working here. My parents worked at this hotel, did their jobs honestly, and in the end were thrown out under threat that the police would be called. They weren’t paid what they had earned. Stay away. Try it for yourself if you don’t believe me, but this place should be closed forever.
