Hotel Skyprime

The room change was frustrating. We were on the third floor, and I asked whether we’d need to bring our heavy luggage down if the replacement room was also upstairs. The receptionist told me it would be on a lower floor. When I came back in the evening, the new room was next door to the old one, also on the third floor. I’d already carried two large suitcases down to reception that morning, so I had to haul them back upstairs. Treating us decently would have cost them nothing. We chose this hotel specifically for parking, since parking in Budva is a serious problem. But because we hadn’t booked through “Booking”, they wouldn’t let us use the lot, even though spaces were available. They lied to us about it, and the receptionist threatened us with a €200 police fine. She was extremely rude and impolite. I wish I’d known all this before staying here. They advertise themselves as a multi-star hotel with parking, but the place was mediocre and wouldn’t merit more than 1.5 stars.

⭐ 1/5. This was the worst hotel stay I’ve had. The terraces varied: some were okay, while others faced another building so closely that they couldn’t be used. The walls were extremely thin, and we could hear everything from neighboring rooms, even toilet flushes. Our own flush didn’t work properly at first and had to be fixed. Water pressure was the one decent thing, though the shower glass was too short and water splashed everywhere. The reception staff were rude and dismissive. They insisted the room had been cleaned while the bin was still visibly full, and only cleaned it the next day after an argument. Parking was advertised, but whenever we asked, they said it was “reserved” for Booking.com users and unavailable to us. One apartment had an elevator and the other didn’t. There was air conditioning but no remote, so we had to plug it in and unplug it manually. The kettles were plastic, the curtains and sheets were torn, and even the two glasses in the room didn’t match. Avoid this place. EDIT: I’ve attached the voucher to prove I stayed here. Seems like the team is used to lying, not the first time.

Budva has no free parking, and leaving a car in a paid lot for 14+ hours gets expensive. I ended up paying €16-20 a day just for parking, so if you plan to rent a car, I’d avoid making the same mistake I did and choosing this hotel. There are three spaces in front of the hotel, but they said those were only for their own use. One or two of the spaces were empty every day, and it would have been better if guests could use them.

The price felt in line with what you get. Air conditioning and good shower pressure were definite pluses. Our shower head was broken, but they replaced it pretty quickly. The hotel was mostly quiet, though noise carries well when someone gets loud. There was no water boiler at first, but we got one after asking. Maybe they could put some effort into new TVs so you can watch movies over wifi. All in all, a good experience.
