Hotel Wellness & Spa Angelo Gabriel

I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, but I’ll remember this one for a long time, and not happily. Our group arrived late in the evening. The outside looked nice at first, but that changed as soon as I entered the room. There were smashed mosquitos all over the walls. I tried to open the balcony door, which was meant to be a plus, but its knob just spun around. I unscrewed it to see if I could fix it and found the broken metal pin patched with paper tape. The owner was renting out a room with a balcony while apparently knowing the door was broken. I went to shower, but the drain was clogged and the water rose about 15 cm in the basin in a minute. Then the shower head broke. Another person in our group couldn’t turn on the water valve; it broke too, and water started spilling everywhere. He told the owner, who shut off the water for the whole hotel until morning, leaving guests unable to shower. Breakfast seemed okay at first, but turned out to be awful. My girlfriend and I were vomiting all evening and night until morning, probably from old grilled vegetables soaked in grease. The price was the last straw: we visited 8 countries on this holiday, and at 70 euro for a double bedroom, this was the most expensive. Even a 4 stars hotel in central Bratislava was cheaper. After we paid and got into our cars, the owner came out and counted banknotes in front of us like a small mean Gypsy. I hardly ever write reviews, only when I really enjoy something or really don’t. I wish this had all been a bad dream, but it was true. Do yourself a favour and don’t visit this “hotel”. The owners probably won’t care what I say because they don’t speak English. The location is pretty good ;)
