The host’s behavior made this the most disturbing and by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. We had booked three nights at Apartments Windrose while traveling along the Adriatic coast. Since the bus from Dubrovnik to Montenegro can be delayed at the border, we told our host, Goran, ahead of time and sent several updates about when we expected to arrive. We got to the bus station around 21:00, messaged him right away, and walked to the apartment. It was advertised as about a 20-minute walk from the center. By about 21:20, Goran was sending impatient, blaming messages, including, “you decided not to pay for the taxi but to have me wait for you???”. He seemed angry that we hadn’t taken a taxi and would arrive a couple of minutes later than he expected. When we got there, he shook our hands, then took a confrontational stance and asked in an aggressive tone, “Why are you doing this to me?” It was deeply unsettling to be met that way in a dark alley just after arriving. My partner tried to laugh it off, saying that helping guests who are finding their way is part of a host’s job. Goran lost his temper completely and refused to let us check in. We were left stranded on the street at 21:40. He also didn’t refund the money we’d already paid through Booking. I strongly advise people to avoid this place. No one should have to deal with behavior that’s so rude, unprofessional, and intimidating.

The house is in a fantastic spot and has a great view, but Goran, the owner, was rude to us and answered arrogantly about things that weren’t his concern. For a house at this price, the hot water was also a recurring problem during showers. The next person had to wait for it to heat up again.

The owner was lovely and took good care of us. He even lent us bikes for free, and we rode along the waterfront to a secluded beach. The apartments are right by the water, with amazing views and only a short walk to Kotor’s old town. Shops and bakeries are just minutes away. Highly recommended.

There are cafes and restaurants all around, and Aroma is nearby. The bus stop is just behind the apartment, making it easy to get to Tivat or the old town. It’s about 1 km from the old market and 1.5 km from the bus station. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well equipped, with TVs in both the bedroom and living room, an induction hood, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, hairdryer, and other household appliances. There’s AC in the washrooms, and the AC and Wi-Fi both worked fine. Mr. Goran was helpful and generous, providing utensils as well as basics like salt, pepper, and sugar. We had a pleasant stay near the sea. Highly recommend it.

The room was incredibly clean and had all the modern comforts you could ask for. You can tell the proprietor has put a lot of love into the place, and he was very helpful and accommodating. We also had a really delicious pizza at the adjoining restaurant/bar. It’s around a five-minute walk along the beautiful harbor to the old city gates. We hope we can return someday!
