The owners were friendly and hospitable, and the location was decent. The main bus station and the main boulevard along the coast are about a 15-minute walk away, and the beach and old town are close if you don't mind stairs, since the place is uphill like much of Herceg Novi. But I had a bad experience with insect bites, not just mosquitoes, that caused a severe allergic reaction. It made me wonder about the hygiene standard, even though I initially thought the accommodation was fine.

The terrace looks out over the bay, a lovely spot to sit and relax. The beds were comfortable, and we could use the kitchen and a separate bathroom. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood near a busy street, but you can't hear the traffic inside. A fantastic place to stay, highly recommend it.

We ended up leaving and heading to Zelenika that evening. There, the owner kindly put us in a much more expensive luxury apartment for the same price after Booking had given our reserved apartment to someone else, so after a bit of a hassle things worked out well. We didn't stay here because the room was extremely dirty: behind the bed were heaps of dead beetles and spiders, and the towel looked so ancient I wouldn't have used it to wipe my greasy hands after working on the car.
