Getting to the room was an exhausting climb. I’m 60 and not in the best shape, and I’d booked this hotel hoping for a relaxing stay. Instead, the stairs turned it into a physical ordeal. Parking was nowhere to be found nearby. After circling around, I found a spot far away. Reception is on the second floor, so my wife and I had to haul our suitcases up three long, steep flights just to check in. I was already out of breath before getting a room key. Then they gave me a room on the hotel’s second floor, another four flights up. From the street to the room, that was eight flights, nearly the equivalent of climbing four stories. The reception staff were polite and smiled kindly, but nobody offered to help with our bags. I carried everything upstairs and had to bring it back down when we left. Honestly, I’m amazed I didn’t have a heart attack. I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone who isn’t a young, fit athlete in training. If you’re older, have mobility issues, are carrying heavy luggage, or just don’t want a punishing workout on vacation, don’t book here. It was dreadful.

I was so glad I chose Swiss Residente when I first arrived in HN. The location, cleanliness, service, and helpful, friendly staff were all great. I stayed for a few weeks, and it would be just as lovely for a shorter visit. Maja takes great care of guests, even demanding ones like me :-) Beliana is only there in high season, but she’s pleasant, helpful, and always ready to assist. Highly recommended.

The balcony view was amazing, and our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel ladies were incredibly welcoming and kind. We loved the location too: central enough to walk everywhere, but quiet at night. The beach is very close, which is quite an achievement in Herceg Novi, a city full of stairs :). We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.
