The way the staff handled things made for a stressful stay, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing vacation. Most employees were friendly, but one older, bald waiter with a big belly was angry and impolite. When my son and I had toothpicks in our hands, he rudely told us to put them back, apparently thinking we planned to take them. We accidentally sat at a table marked “Reserved,” and he asked if I knew how to read. That table stayed empty all week. Our room was supposed to be 48 m², but was no more than 30 m². It was 28°C and stuffy because the air conditioning didn’t work. Reception said it wasn’t the season yet, so they hadn’t switched it on. The room was poorly cleaned, and the sheets and towels were stained. The floor lamp had no bulb, and the housekeeper said we could call maintenance ourselves to replace it. We asked to check out at noon instead of 10:00 a.m. because we have two small children, and we were willing to pay. The receptionist refused, saying the hotel was fully booked and that she had three children herself and saw no problem. I asked again the next day, when a different receptionist was there. She extended our stay without trouble and said nobody was arriving after us. We stayed from May 14 to May 21.

The food was a highlight for us. There was good variety each day, along with specials, and the kitchen and dining room staff were pleasant and helpful. There were lots of drink choices, and we could bring drinks to our room, though not food. Our first room wasn’t in a good location, but they moved us to one with a view when we asked. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. The hotel has two outdoor pools and one indoor pool, though with the beach right there, you may prefer the sea. There’s table tennis and darts too, and boat tours can be booked at the hotel to explore the bay. We had a great seven-day holiday and would recommend the hotel to friends and family. If you bring a car, parking at the hotel costs 10€ per night.

The hotel made a very positive impression, and we’d recommend it for a relaxing holiday. The food was varied and delicious, the views were stunning, and the nearby local restaurants and picturesque port make it a useful base for outings. Our room was cleaned each day, the hotel was exceptionally clean, and the staff provided excellent service. A few things could be better: the All-Inclusive alcohol was quite poor, the entertainment was mainly aimed at French tourists, and there weren’t any real activities for children. We visited in September 2024.

Dining at Hotel Carine Hotel Kumbor was one of the highlights of my trip, thanks to Iliya. He’s an exceptional chef, and his food is delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommended.

The fresh food was a personal highlight, especially the dishes grilled by executive Chef Ilija. He was especially nice and took us through Montenegro’s cultural highlights. We had a great time over Easter in a superior suite on the 6th floor, with a lovely view.
