Hotel Petrovac

The pool was empty, and the room had several basic problems: the main lights, fridge, and some sockets didn’t work, while others were loose with wires exposed. There was no toilet paper, duvet, shampoo, conditioner, or hand soap, and the bathroom was dirty. The air conditioning only blew hot air, so sleeping comfortably was impossible. On our last night we got back late to find the front sliding doors locked and nobody at reception. We had to force the doors apart enough to get in, then close them behind us. The place also seemed nearly unmanned for most of our three-night stay. It looked like only two people were running the whole hotel, and we barely saw other guests. A sign on the glass entrance said “business suspended,” which was worrying. When we arrived, reception was empty and we waited about 20 minutes. The person who came to check us in hadn’t been in the building and only showed up after another guest found a number to call. He wasn’t in uniform and communicated through a translation app. He said their booking system was down and at first couldn’t find our reservation. Then someone who didn’t seem to work there was sent to inspect our room and passed the key back through him. I still don’t know who that person was or why they were in our room. The property wasn’t as described on the website. For a place advertised as four stars, the lack of proper management and the unsafe conditions were unacceptable. This was the most horrendous hotel stay I’ve ever had. I’d tell anyone thinking of booking to stay away.
