Splendido

Igor greeted us by name from our second day, which felt like a rare personal touch. The staff were kind, the location was excellent, and we’d happily return anytime. We also liked the comfortable pebbly beach, excellent restaurant, varied and delicious breakfast, and private covered parking with a guard. The hotel itself is a bit worn, though. Of the three rooms we rented, one had a fridge that didn't work and another had broken air conditioning. Hallway carpets and doors that sealed better would help with the noise.

Dinner at Hotel Splendido was lovely. We had a fresh, tasty Balcan classic salad with tomatoes, vegetables and feta, plus a good Margherita pizza. The service was fast and just right. The tables are right by the sea, in a wonderful spot, and the building is fascinating too, a typical stone palace in beautiful Prĉanj. A wonderful experience. ♥️

At the pool, staff said we couldn't drink our own water and would have to buy theirs for €4.50 per 750ml. The manager later confirmed there was no such restriction and let us keep our water. Rules seemed to depend on who you were: when my partner added her own gluten-free ingredients to her salad, after staff had approved them, the waiter complained. A nearby table was allowed to put their own berries on ice cream. When we asked about it, he said they were friends of the owner and got exceptions. We also had ongoing room problems. There was mold on the ceiling, a rusted door frame, and a bathroom floor that stayed wet, perhaps from a leaking shower or toilet. We reported this to reception three times. A worker came, but nothing was fixed, and no other room was offered. My partner had brought gluten-free additions because there were no gluten-free options available. Maintenance complaints were left unresolved, dietary needs weren't respected, and rules were applied inconsistently. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The view and some of the staff were about the only good parts. By the third day, even the view wasn't worth it anymore. The rooms, beds, towels and couches were dirty, and so were the mugs and plates in the breakfast area. I had to check three or four mugs to find one that was barely clean. Everything else about the hotel was terrible. Definitely the worst hotel I've stayed in, and I wouldn't recommend it at all.
