Hotel kingStone Budva

It’s only my first day here, but this is already my best hotel experience. The room is spotless, right down to the dust-free crevices behind the walls, and I feel at home. They really pay attention to the details.

The rooms were nice, the breakfast buffet had a lot to choose from, the decor was cool, and the spa itself wasn’t bad. The price was okay, so I might stay again if some of the problems are fixed. The hotel does have potential, and at first it looks high-end and elegant, but the main-road location is unfortunate and there were plenty of things that left a bad impression. Restaurant service was sometimes awful. On our first visit after check-in, we went in to see if there were snacks. The older “cook” lady didn’t greet us, kept looking at her phone, acted as if she didn’t understand when we asked for a menu, then walked off while talking on the phone. Later, when my friend tried to return glasses we’d taken to the terrace, she silently pointed toward the kitchen instead of taking them. Another restaurant employee argued with us every morning about seating. We were a big group and wanted the large round table, but he wouldn’t let us sit there. Similar things happened more than once. There were many maintenance issues. The rooms were pleasant, though the bathrooms could have been more upscale. In the spa, sockets were open with wires showing, the tiles were so slippery I nearly broke my toes, handrails were badly rusted, and the sauna and steam room were missing door handles. The steam room door wouldn’t close properly, and locker locks were so rusty that some were falling out. When it rained, water flooded the hallway between the stairs and reception. The restaurant and lounge are poorly laid out, with black shutters instead of folding windows, so they get dark in bad weather. The outdoor air-conditioning units mounted on the wall were loud at night. There were dozens of other little defects I could mention. The hotel’s logos were inconsistent or missing, and its name wasn’t even displayed outside. The parking area looked like a messy barn full of junk and part construction site. Still, the rooms were nice and the price was okay, so I might give it another try if they fix some things.

Hotel kingStone Budva was spotless, and the service was excellent. The team were responsive, cooperative, and worked hard to make guests comfortable. Special thanks to the reception staff: Dijana was professional, articulate, respectful, and understanding. Bogdan was accommodating and always trying to help guests and keep them happy. Emrah was energetic and quick, and represented the hotel well. Sneza cleaned carefully, down to the smallest details, and kept everything comfortable and orderly. Dejan and Jovan were friendly and collaborative, offering service options at good times. The rest of the team were cooperative and did their best for guests too. I had a fantastic stay, recommend the hotel, and hope to return.

We watched a beautiful sunset by the pool, looking out over the whole bay. The hotel is modern, the service was great, and the food was delicious. There was construction material lying around, but it didn’t come with any noise that disturbed us.
