Getting to the city center was a hassle. It's 6.5 km away along a narrow road by the bay, and in Kotor's heavy summer traffic the drive took at least 45 minutes. Inside, the beds were so uncomfortable that the mattress springs poked through. The bathroom looked outdated, with a kitchen faucet fitted awkwardly to the sink that splashed water everywhere. The shower was dirty and moldy, and only leftover shampoo and conditioner from earlier guests were there. We got one used roll of toilet paper, and had to wait half a day for the host to bring more. The towels were very old, rough and prickly. The stay was a letdown and didn't feel worth the price.

From the apartment it's about a 10-minute drive to the old town, with restaurants and shops nearby. The Blue Line bus stop is right beside the building, and the host was very kind and helped with whatever we needed. If you're after Kotor's views, I'd recommend booking one of the rooms with a balcony view. Just be ready for lots of mosquitoes. I bought insecticide from a nearby shop, but they kept coming back. The place is old and could use some renovation, and there were cobwebs around. The cleaning could be better too.

We were very happy with our stay. The view was beautiful and Kotor's center is close by. The place was clean, the beds comfortable, and the woman who welcomed us was lovely and helpful. The off-season price is great. Just don't expect a five-star hotel, though we really couldn't complain about anything.

Ivana moved me to a room with a sea view at no extra charge after the problems, and I'm grateful to her. The staff were helpful and good at explaining things. But ants kept appearing in my room, which was dirty and uncomfortable. I struggled to sleep with insects around. The water heater also beeped constantly, and there was a risk of an explosion. Good people run this place, but the place itself was dirty, dangerous and terrible.

We had lovely morning sunshine and views over the bay from our balcony. The shared kitchen was well equipped, and the hosts were very friendly, easy to reach and helpful. Great value for money.
