Bonaca

The small pool was nice, and the room was okay, but getting there was hard because the road is rough and the place is difficult to find. The bedding and towels were poor quality, and the towels were small and mismatched. The shower head wouldn't stay overhead. The toilet roll holder was broken and left lying around, and there was no towel rail.

We left our holiday three days early. The beach was too far to walk to, and the breakfast looked awful, with everything cooked in oil. Around 40 people shared the kitchen, and the owners had friends there, so we couldn't cook anything. We had a few drinks on the terrace and were laughing when the woman came out and told us to be quiet or she'd throw us out. I also saw ashtrays being washed in the dishwasher with the plates and cups. 😡

The owners are incredibly kind and helpful, and the place is peaceful, away from the bustle but still near the beach and city center. The rooms aren't five-star, but they have what you'd expect, including air conditioning. There's a spacious shared kitchen with all the equipment you'd need to make meals, plus tables and a big barbecue nearby. And there's a swimming pool.

The children's beds were the one real problem. They were impossible to sleep on. Otherwise, it felt family friendly, with nice, friendly staff, a very clean place, a lovely pool, and a well-equipped shared kitchen. Wi-Fi was average. The nicest beaches are about a 20-minute walk away on flat ground, so the distance wasn't a big deal.
