Carrubba

The peaceful, relaxed setting is a big part of why I love this boutique hotel. The service is excellent, with a really high standard of care. Highly recommended if you enjoy a quiet place to unwind.

We had a lovely three-night stay at Carrubba, right on the bay of Tivat, with gorgeous stone walls and sea views. Our family had four rooms: the ground-floor suite, the large room in the Annexe, and two rooms on the second floor. All faced the water. The rooms were spotless, and the seaside decor, with art and curios, was interesting. There was no lift, so hauling luggage was a pain, though staff helped. The carob street has starlings nesting over the entrance, and a ginger cat resting peacefully in the sun. Punto Crudo, the attached restaurant, has a lovely back garden and a terrace facing the sea. The food was very good, and the chef is well trained. Breakfast was amazing: chia pudding, a French pastry, and fruit to start, followed by options like eggs with real grated truffle, cheesy French omelettes, or pancakes with mascarpone and fruit compotes. Nick checked us in, and Anna and Aleksandra were all amazing. One staff member, Vladamir, was brusque, unwelcoming, and pushy. We were glad his day off came after day one, but the others made up for it. We'll definitely be back!

The room was beautiful and clean, and the warm floors were great. The balcony was lovely, with an amazing view of the Adriatic sea. It was raining, so we couldn't enjoy the balcony as much as we'd have liked, but it was still a beautiful experience. At night, the rain, lightning, and thunder carried on until early morning, and it was amazing.

We swam in the sea beside Hotel Carruba each morning before breakfast, and the restaurant right on the water served generous, tasty breakfasts with friendly service. My husband and I spent five nights there in July 2025. The staff were helpful throughout, especially Nick, who checked us in and helped us over WhatsApp. The scenic walk to Tivat takes about 15 to 20 minutes, though there are also several beachside restaurants closer by. Buses didn’t keep to schedule, a general issue around Montenegro that we knew about, so we allowed extra time or took a taxi when needed. The setting is beautiful and relaxing, and we’d happily recommend the hotel.
