Waikiki Beach House

A pleasant, relaxed beach club when you want to get away from the crowds at public beaches. The food is good, and the sunbeds are comfortable, though €45 is a bit steep. The cheap umbrellas spoiled the five-star feel: it seemed hotter underneath them than out in the sun. Worth visiting, but the shade setup needs an upgrade.

Last year I left a bad review because of the poor service, but this time the waiters were much better: attentive and respectful. The food was nice and didn't take long, and the hostess was kind. I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it was less crowded, or maybe the service staff were different.

We came hoping to relax, but spent most of the time trying to get service. We asked for an empty sunbed by the beach and were told it was reserved, though nobody had arrived by 6 p.m. Instead, we got a broken one. After sitting down, we waited 20 minutes with no menu, so we went to get one ourselves. No one came to take our order, even after we complained. Two hours later we had to place it ourselves. The waiter never apologized or checked on us, and looked at the ground to avoid eye contact when passing. When we finally pointed out that he hadn't taken our order or brought the menu, he snapped, “I don’t have 50 hands.” The staff we'd complained to earlier were laughing and clearly didn't care. A very disappointing experience, and not relaxing at all.

We spent a day at the beach. Two plastic sunbeds and an umbrella cost 30 euro, and they were set quite close together. You're not allowed to drink anything here that wasn't bought at the hotel bar, not even water. The restaurant is overpriced, though there are better options right next door. Not worth it.
