Barjaktar - Luxury Suites & SPA

We came to Montenegro and Ulcinj for the first time, and the hotel made the trip unforgettable. The room was clean and luxurious, and the staff really cared about our comfort. They made us feel right at home. We tried the restaurant and wine too, both were incredible. Thank you so much!

We came as a family of five and had a room with a great view, two bedrooms, a bed for the adults, and one for each of our three children. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach and Old Town, and it has parking, which is hard to find at Old Town hotels. They also have a wine cellar and offer tastings if you want one. The owner was around all over the hotel, greeting guests and even cleaning rooms and floors. From our late arrival until we left, the staff looked after us and anticipated what we needed. The room, lobby, gym, and pool were all very clean and well maintained. This boutique hotel really felt like five stars. We had a great stay, it's worth the money, and we'll be back.

We stayed in June and were glad we did. The Barjaktar is at the edge of the old town, so it was peaceful, but only a five-minute walk from the lovely restaurants there. The main town had louder music and livelier bars, and it was clearly gearing up for the July tourist season, which wasn't for us. Our junior suite had a sea view and pool view and stayed nicely shaded. The pool was perfect for cooling off in the hot sun. We also ate at the hotel: homemade soup, steak, and Barjaktar's own red wine, which was superb. I drank two bottles during our four-night stay. Viki was lovely, shared lots of advice, and booked us a nice restaurant for our first night. All the staff were amazing, friendly, and as helpful as could be. Tonight is our last night, and it'll be sad to leave. I can't recommend Barjaktar highly enough if you're coming to Ulcinj.

We stayed nine nights in August 2023 as a family of five. The hotel and facilities were great, and the location was excellent. There was a mix-up with our direct booking, but the lovely lady owner sorted it out fairly quickly. I didn't warm to the father, who runs the hotel. I found him unfriendly and quite aggressive, though other reviews seem to love him, so perhaps it was a cultural difference. We didn't like his manner as a host. His 16-year-old daughter, who works there, was lovely: calm, relaxed, and genuinely helpful. In our view, she was a much better host.
