The hosts weren't friendly at all. I'd avoid this place.

A pleasant spot.

We keep returning to Apartment Evropa, and this was our fifth year in a row. It feels like coming home. The older couple who own it are especially warm and helpful, and the whole stay is easy and dependable. The place is always spotless, looked after, and thoughtfully prepared. We highly recommend it.

The accommodation looked appealing in the photos and was described as child friendly, but our stay was awful. I would not give the place even one star if I could, and I would never return, no matter the price. The two elderly owners were disgusting, and families with children should stay away. It seems better suited to people over 65 who just want to sleep. On the first day they offered coffee and soft drinks, smiled, and chatted with us in German. They seemed friendly while waiting for us to pay for the accommodation. After that, they started asking when we would leave. We had rented four rooms and paid a lot. We were there with children, who behaved well and were careful to keep things tidy, but as soon as it was 9 o'clock, the owners went into the children's room and switched off the lights, saying it was late and the lights should be off. What right did they have to do that? It was very hot during the day, so we used the air conditioning while we were in our rooms. They kept telling us not to turn it on. Why charge us for air-conditioned rooms if we couldn't use it? One rainy evening, around 9:30 pm, we were talking quietly in the kitchen because we couldn't go anywhere. The owners came upstairs grumpily, said they were sleeping downstairs, and gestured for us to be quiet. They didn't replace any toilet paper or towels. They charged 4000 HUF for three loads of laundry. Although the accommodation listing said checkout could be as late as 11, at 7 am they banged loudly on all the closet doors to wake us, then at 9 am showed us their watches to say it was time to leave.

Our first stay there was also our last. The couple running the accommodation were not welcoming, and the old woman was always grumpy. She could hardly look at me and kept suggesting we should leave so the next paying guest could come. They seemed focused on money. They went to bed early, and if they heard us talking after 9:00 PM, they came upstairs to tell us to go to sleep. They watched our every move. When the weather kept us inside, they sat among us, shamelessly asked for drinks, and acted as if they were guests. They also seemed unhappy that my little grandson, who is 4 years old, was there. This is not a child-friendly place. The bed linen was used and dirty, though it had been ironed. Luckily, we brought our own. They didn't replace the toilet paper or towels. There was nowhere to put our clothes because the closets were full of the couple's old belongings, including musty duvets, pillows, and blankets. Bugs crawled in the hallway and bathroom. The kitchen appliances seemed to be for show. We put the ingredients for a banana smoothie into the blender and plugged it in, but it didn't work. The apartment staircase looks lovely, but it is dangerous. I asked politely how much a wash would cost. They charged 1300 HUF per load, while elsewhere you can use a washing machine for free. There is a big terrace upstairs with an outdoor table where we hoped to have breakfast, but staff left towels, underwear, and diapers hanging there, right in our faces. The elderly owner was always on the terrace peeking in to see if we were inside. He kept spraying water, so everything was wet and dripping. The surface was slippery, and I couldn't let my grandson out there.
