Palata Venezia has lovely terraces and a dining room, with sea views all around. The hotel sits high on a cliff and has been renovated and finished in stone, with rustic rooms and a beautiful atmosphere. Luka at reception was especially kind and helpful from the moment we arrived, and the owners were just as welcoming. Thanks so much for your hospitality. We’ll be back for sure.

Ulcinj’s Old Town deserves more attention. Palata Venezia adds a touch of Venetian charm to Montenegro’s southernmost fortress.

The south-facing rooms have some of the best views, but they also pick up the music from Ulcinj’s nightclubs. Even with the windows and shutters shut, I could hear the awful songs clearly from a kilometre away. There don’t seem to be noise rules in place for the clubs. Still, this is an amazing hotel. The rooms are comfortable, the views are spectacular, and the staff and service were genuinely wonderful. It’s on the hills, as you’d expect in Montenegro, but I agree with the many sites calling it Ulcinj’s best hotel. Top notch, and I absolutely recommend it.

The restaurant menu is a little limited compared with other dining options, and I think it could make more of its potential given the location and service. The hotel itself is in one of Ulcinj’s most historic and impressive buildings, right in the heart of the old city, with great views. The staff were lovely, accommodating and friendly, especially at reception. The manager was also very polite and nice to talk with. Thanks for the great scooter ride and the amazing Citadel tour.

The rooms are quite simple and dated in their decor, but everything was spotless. What I’ll remember most is how caring and kind the staff were. This beautiful family hotel is in an incredible spot in Ulcinj’s old town, with sublime views of the sea and little harbor, plus lovely gardens and peaceful terraces. The service was top notch.
