We loved falling asleep to the sound of waves right outside our beachfront room, and the beach wasn't too busy. LOVE is also well located for all the restaurants, though the main road gets very busy with cars. You have to walk single file and stay alert. Our only complaint was that there were no beach chairs. We're getting too old to lie in the sand! It would be a bonus to have folding chairs in the room, or even chairs available for a deposit, especially for guests who don't want to sit shoulder to shoulder at the busier places renting rows of chairs. A lovely extra was the fridge, stocked with water and juices, plus cookies and treats that were replenished every day.

The property is beautiful, the beachfront location is excellent, and the room looked nice. The staff we met were kind, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, noise, room conditions, and the way management handled concerns made the stay disappointing. A few doors away, Rainbow Café / Rainbow Beach Club played loud music with extremely heavy bass for hours every day. One night it went on until 1:00 AM, and the bass was strong enough to feel in your chest. It made it hard to relax or sleep and took away the peace this kind of hotel should offer. The hotel staff said they knew it was an ongoing issue but couldn't do anything. Guests should be told about it before booking. If you enjoy 'Vegas style bass' for 6-10 hours a day, this is your place. We also found cockroaches, which can happen on an island and weren't the main problem. More seriously, I had repeated bites during the stay that seemed consistent with bed bugs. One guest needed medical treatment and prescription medication, and the doctor said the bites were consistent with bed bug exposure. When we raised this, management dismissed the concern as mosquitoes or sand bugs. They said they didn't think it was bed bugs because they couldn't see any after inspecting for 10-15 seconds, even though bed bugs can be difficult to spot during the day and hide in mattress seams, bed frames, headboards, and nearby furniture. We left early because the room no longer felt safe or comfortable. The property has strong visual appeal and good frontline staff, but management's response, excessive noise, and room conditions overshadowed those strengths.

We booked a street-side room with a balcony facing the village, and it was much better than I expected. I worried because the good reviews talked about beachfront rooms, not street-side ones, but the property is right on the beach, so the room side didn't make much difference. It was noisy, though not enough to bother us much. Sunday was loudest, with music playing everywhere, but the rest of the week was okay. Our room was #20, over two floors. There was a small bed upstairs and an AC unit we didn't use. The balcony was wide, with comfortable chairs, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was strong. The AC and heat worked well. At check-in, we got beach towels and used them every day on the beach just outside the hotel. The fridge had three juices and a bottle of water, replaced daily at no extra cost, plus packaged snacks like madeleines and brownies and coffee pods. It's a perfect location for food lovers, with amazing restaurants nearby. We loved the oxtail soup across the street, which we'd spotted from our balcony. We also recommend a croissant from Maison Chocolat for breakfast and dinner at Ti Coin Creole.

We had a mechanical problem with our flight and needed to arrive a day later, but LOVE hotel couldn't accommodate us because they were full. They kept the one-night deposit I'd already paid and then charged me for both nights, so we lost $738. The only credit they offered was valid for three weeks, which we couldn't use because our travel window had passed. They said it was hotel policy, even though the room was likely resold. No hospitality, understanding, or grace here. I wouldn't book with them. Too risky.

The patio and shower more than make up for the limited amenities. This place has gorgeous, original French Caribbean charm, with cute plank floors and vaulted ceilings. Bonus points for the excellent linens.
