For the price we paid, I added a star to the two I was going to give. I wouldn’t pick this place for a romantic or family holiday. The room had beds, a toilet and shower, plus AC that smelled funky. I checked under the beds for bed bugs, dead hookers, aborted embryos and all that, and found it relatively clean, though very worn and torn. Reception was really friendly, but I didn’t see the other staff. The rats in the ceiling seemed to come home around 5am every morning, then quieted down after about half an hour once they’d settled in.

What stands out is how much the owners and staff treated us like family. We had some problems unrelated to the hotel, and they were there to help and offer advice at midnight and again at 9 a.m. It was such a relief to have that support in a faraway place. The hotel itself is basic, but very clean and well looked after. It’s convenient for shops, restaurants and beaches in Marigot, and a good cost-efficient choice for a few nights if that’s what you need.

We were certain our stay on January 20th was arranged, either at this establishment or their hotel. We’d booked in April and got confirmation again after Hurricane Irma in October. Then, just two weeks before the stay, they cancelled our reservation. A major disgrace by the managers.
