We enjoyed using the privilege card for breakfast at KKO and beach chairs along the shore. The hotel is beautifully set right on the beach, with ocean views. Our room was spacious and quiet, and the staff were incredibly kind, professional, and responsive. There’s a small grocery and a few restaurants within a five-minute walk, so you have what you need close by. We came home feeling relaxed and refreshed, and ready to return to Orient Beach Hotel!

The room was very clean, and housekeeping kept it that way even when we tracked in sand from the beach. When we had a small issue, the staff sorted it out immediately. Myriam, the manager, and Junior and Kim at the front desk all went out of their way to look after us. The hotel is right on a long, beautiful white-sand beach. Breakfast was included each morning and was delicious, and hotel guests could use complimentary sunbeds at several beach clubs. There are plenty of good local restaurants nearby too. We had a fantastic stay at Orient Beach Hotel and would absolutely return. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Saint Martin.

We stayed three nights at Orient Beach Hotel and were happy with just about everything. The gardens and property are well cared for, and the staff are super friendly. Our room was clean, spacious, and well appointed. The hotel is right on the beach, with many great restaurants just steps away. My one small nitpick: European beds tend to be firm, and these were no exception. Book it, you won’t be sorry.

The view from our back deck was lovely, and the room was comfortable and very nice. It’s a boutique hotel right on the beach in Orient Bay, with lots of shops, bars, and restaurants an easy walk away. We only stayed one night and wished we’d booked longer. We’d definitely stay here again.

We paid about $465 a night from April 22-28, and this stay fell well short of what we expected. We chose this hotel for a beachfront vacation and paid for an oceanfront room, but room 110 had only a partial, obstructed view. When we raised it, they said the hotel was fully booked and couldn’t move us, and offered no other solution. The view wasn’t what was advertised on Expedia or the hotel website. Orient Bay was unusable because of heavy sargassum. I understand it’s a natural occurrence, and we’ve encountered it at other properties, but this hotel didn’t tell us before arrival. If we’d known, we would have seriously considered rescheduling. Instead, we had to make last-minute plans and pay out of pocket to get to other beaches every day. Cabs cost $25 each way, even when sharing with other people, and beach chairs were $20-$40. It felt like everything was a money grab. The room and service didn’t make up for losing the beach experience we had booked. The linens were torn and worn, and the included breakfast was just cheap coffee and croissants, with no juice or hot food. Everything else cost extra. There was no luggage help on arrival or welcome drink, and the pool area had little shade or atmosphere. Roaches around the village, near restaurants and on the hotel grounds by the ice machine, were disturbing. They really need to fumigate. We raised several concerns, asked to change rooms, and pointed out that our sheets were ripped, but nothing was meaningfully addressed. Even asking for extra Nespresso pods was met with reluctance and comments implying we were asking for an exception, which felt inappropriate at this price. The hotel’s responses to reviews also show a lack of real customer service. We paid a premium for little more than a place to sleep, and the hotel took no responsibility for the concerns we raised. In other places where we’ve experienced sargassum, the room, service, and amenities made up for it, and staff communicated proactively and offered alternatives. Here, we had neither a true oceanfront view nor usable beach access, and a more thoughtful response would have helped. The island itself had plenty to offer, so we still enjoyed our vacation. We went to Pinel Island, took the scoobi boat trip, and visited Grand Case. But the hotel felt like a total rip-off. I can’t recommend it, we won’t return, and we’ll stay elsewhere next time.
