The location puts you right in the middle of everything, near the beach and nightlife, though it stays fairly quiet. Rooms are cleaned each day and come with fresh, thick towels. There’s a pretty little garden and reception area, and a night guard. Outside feels safe, but it’s quite dark for the short walk to Taxi Be, so bring a small torch. Staff are great, and some speak English. Breakfast is available, though it’s the French sort. The rooms are okay, pretty standard for Africa at this price, but you’d get more for less in Asia. There are two fan rooms upstairs, reached by stairs, and six ground-floor bungalows that may have air conditioning. Wi-Fi is good. Hot water works, but the pressure can be unreliable.

The bungalows get a bit noisy at night because of Taxi Be, and they’re rather dark during the day. Still, the rooms are clean, the staff are very nice, the location is great, and there’s hot water and working Wi-Fi. Otherwise, it’s great.

Benjamin and his staff are really friendly, and I had no problems during my stay. I liked the quiet room and the lovely atmosphere, and didn’t get bitten by mosquitoes there, unlike in Diego Suares. I’d stayed somewhere more expensive before and didn’t enjoy it as much. My first time staying at Benjamin Hotel was a unique experience, and I’d stay there again if I had the chance. Trust yourself and give Benjamin Hotel a try.

Really good service, kind people, and a clean, welcoming place. The Wi-Fi was gold, and breakfast was good too. It’s three minutes from both the beach and the city.
