My room was huge, comfortable, and very clean, and the service was great. This stylish boutique hotel has been beautifully restored in a colonial-era building in central Tamatave. Don't expect international four-star standards, but it's very good value and I had a pleasant stay. The restaurant was the weak point. Breakfast felt a bit overpriced, and it was deserted at dinner, so I didn't really look at the menu. There are other restaurants nearby. I had an excellent meal and a cozy evening at L'Affiche Restaurant, five minutes down the street. You may want to avoid Restaurant La Terrasse unless you're interested in meeting sex workers.

I only stopped here briefly on my way to Sainte Marie, but I'd stay again. The room was large and clean, and the service was outstanding. I arrived at 9pm exhausted after a long day on the road, then had to leave at 4am for the next bus. They offered me breakfast at 3:30am.

The room was clean and nice, with a fridge, AC, and fan. The staff were professional and the service was smooth. It's a bit expensive compared with other places we've stayed in Madagascar, but still a perfectly decent place to spend a night.
