The food was delicious and served in generous portions. We tried roasted lamb, sharska meat, pork sausage, crispy chicken, shopska salad, porcini mushroom pasta, and gravce tavce, all five stars. The hotel is right in the center of Lazaropole, a rural village with fascinating nature and lovely local people. We came because close friends had stayed for three nights last June, and we stayed three nights ourselves. Our room was clean, warm, and traditionally designed. The owners were upbeat and very helpful. They provided a baby cot for our little Kirsten, as well as a heater that we never needed because the room was warm enough. There were colorful Easter eggs on the reception desk for all the guests. Thanks to Kalin Hotel for a great welcome and stay. We’ll come back, hopefully with a bigger group.

The mountain scenery is stunning, with fresh air and beautiful views all around. We found it a great place to unwind and recharge. The staff were thoughtful and so kind, making us feel welcome and comfortable at every turn, from check-in through meals. I’d happily recommend it.

The area is beautiful, and the dogs were very sweet, especially Sarko. We had an excellent breakfast out front on the sunny terrace. The fireplace was comfortable, and we were warmly welcomed. When I felt unwell, they served me tea, which made for a very pleasant stay.

We had homemade meals that were delicious and fairly priced, and the house is filled with beautiful artwork. The owner is dedicated, friendly, and speaks perfect English. Lazaropole is a charming little village amid lovely mountain scenery. Having an Aperol Spritz on the terrace at sunset made it feel like the place to be.
